Guidance and Expectations

  • Designs should reflect the spirit of storytelling and Appalachian culture.

  • Think bold, clear, and memorable.

  • Your work should translate well across print and digital formats.

  • To be considered, your submissions must include a poster, brochure, and T-shirt design that function together as one cohesive visual story.

Submission Requirements

File Format

  • PDF (preferred) or high-resolution JPG/PNG

  • CMYK color mode for print accuracy

Dimensions

  • 18” x 24” (standard poster size)

  • 8.5”x11” (standard brochure size)

  • 12”x16” (max t-shirt print area)

  • Include 0.125” bleed on all sides

  • Keep important text/images within a 0.5” safe margin

Resolution

  • Minimum 300 DPI at full size

File

  • Include a mock-up sheet showing all three designs together

  • 20MB per file if uploading directly

  • You may submit a link to your Google Drive or Dropbox file in the Project Details section

Content Requirements

  • Must include:

    • Cave Run Storytelling Festival

    • Twin Knobs Recreation Area

    • September 24-25, 2027

  • Poster and brochure designs should allow space for 3-5 sponsor logos and 7 teller names and pictures.

  • T-shirt design can only contain four colors. Three colors to be screened onto the shirt, plus the color of the shirt.

Originality

  • Original artwork only

  • No copyrighted images unless you own full rights
